God's ways are not man's ways. So sometimes God's ways appear illogical. For example:

Gideon Judges 7:1-8 | Q: Why whittle a 32,000-man army down to 300 men and expect any kind of victory? A: Judges 7:2 |
Naaman 2 Kings 5:1-19 | Q: Since the Arameans were enemies of Israel, why would the LORD use a Syrian, Naaman, to give victory to the Arameans against Israel? A: 2 Kings 5:2-3 Q: Offended, Naaman asked why not wash in better looking rivers back in Damascus rather than in the Jordan River to heal his skin disease? A: 2 Kings 5:15 and 2 Kings 5:17-18 |
Jesus Luke 4:14-27 | Q: Jesus said that many Israeli's had skin diseases during Elisha's lifetime, but only Naaman of Syria was healed. Why did this make the Nazareth synagoge men so angry? A: Luke 4:22 Q: How did Jesus walk through the crowd and not get thrown off the cliff? A: Luke 4:29-30 |

Good deeds Ezekiel 33:12-13 | Q: Why don't people get credit for their good deeds, so they outweigh any acts of disobedience? A: Ezekiel 33:12-13 Q: Is this fair? A: Acts 17:27-31 |
The Gospel Romans 10:1-17 | Q: After centuries of hearing from God, Jewish logic didn't lead to the right conclusions about righteousness. Can anyone be right with God? A: Romans 10:1-4 Q: How is salvation even possible? A: Romans 10:8-17 |

The prophet Nahum predicted eventual complete, final destruction of the Assyrian capital Nineveh. (ca 663-607 BC) July 22-29 readings: 2Kings 20; Isaiah 37-66 The death of Sennacherib of Assyria, and the reign of Hezekiah ca 663-607 BC: A prophet of God in Judah perhaps during the reigns of Ahaz and Hezekiah, or later during Josiah's reign. "Assyria's wounds are fatal, although as yet they continue their endless cruelty, unaware of what's coming upon them" |

Reading about Biblical enemies yesterday, the closest I found in the Old Testament to Jesus' command to love our enemies was Hannah's prayer in 1 Samuel 2:1 -
Comments-[ comments.]
"And Hannah prayed and said:Does anyone know of another "love your enemies" example? OK, Samson also comes to mind but.....
'My heart rejoices in the LORD;
My horn is exalted in the LORD.
I smile at my enemies,
Because I rejoice in Your salvation.'"
